Tasting Notes
"A blend of Grenache, Tibouren, Syrah, Rolle, Cinsault and Sémillon in unknown proportions, the 2023 Côtes de Provence Rose from Château du Galoupet reveals a delicate, elegantly smoky bouquet of grapefruit, red berries, peach and iodine. Medium-bodied and juicy, enveloping and round, it’s perfectly balanced with a delicate core of fruit that transitions into a fresh, iodine-tinged and long finish. This rosé typically benefits from 2 or 3 years of cellaring to reach its full potential."
BETTANE & DESSEAUVE Rating Château Galoupet Cru Classé 2023

Jury Citation
"The estate stretches out facing the sea, covering around 170 hectares of land and forests, of which 68 are vineyards. The valleys and the hidden artificial lake create a rich and sustainable terroir where grenache, syrah, tibouren, and rolle thrive. Strict choices are made in the vineyard to enhance the terroir of schist and calcite. A commitment to biodiversity, tailored ground cover, and strict yield limits also contribute to producing top-tier wines—always highly intense and long, marked by noble acidity and fine tannins. Mathieu Meyer, the estate's director, is one of the most endearing figures encountered in Provence this year. His vision is sure to elevate Galoupet to the pinnacle of the world's finest rosés. The first vintage, 2023, also the property's first certified organic wine, is a contender for the title of the most refined rosé in all of Provence."

Falstaff Rating Château Galoupet Cru Classé 2023
"Bright salmon pink. Fresh notes of blood orange, lime zest and strawberry combine on the nose with subtle roasted aromas and a hint of pink cookie. Convincingly elegant, juicy acidity on the palate, accompanied by notes of liquorice and white nougat. Juicy, salty finish with very good length. Delicate pleasure!"
DECANTER RATING CHATEAU GALOUPET CRU CLASSE 2023
Pale salmon pink. This is still very youthful, with delicate aromas of peach and redcurrant. On the palate, the intense concentrated fruit of the hot, dry vintage dominates the wine and has allowed Galoupet’s estate director Mathieu Meyer to increase the amount of oak used to balance and enhance the fruit profile, making this wine much more structured than the 2022. The bitter sweet acidity of pink grapefruit, firm, dry phenolics, concentrated dark berries and minerality, make this more of a gastronomic rosé than a simple quaffing wine, and one that reflects the schistous terroir. Still a little gawky, this needs a few months more age for the different elements to pull together and indicate good ageing potential.

Gold Medal (1 of 10 rosé wines awarded the Gold Medal)
On the palate, in fact, the expression of the fruit is profound, with a fine balance between exotic and Mediterranean harmonies. The aromatic harmony is supported by a silky structure, with a complex and saline finish. A label with rare aging potential, it offers a generous expression of what is the uniqueness of the Provençal terroir.”
