BIODIVERSITY

Caring for nature from ground to glass through our organic rosé wine, sustainability is deeply rooted in our vision at Château Galoupet. We believe that sustainable wine and restoring our dialogue with nature are fundamental to creating and contributing to the preservation of a sanctuary for biodiversity, as well as crafting exceptional Côtes de Provence wines to inspire a new generation of winemakers and wine lovers. We work to help indigenous wildlife to flourish, with bees at the heart of our sustainable ecosystem, while also supporting neighboring winegrowers as part of an ever-growing community with shared values.

WATER MANAGEMENT

A vital component of our organic winemaking process and sustainable winery relates to water management. We track irrigation closely and constantly, maximizing rainwater infiltration and restoring the onsite reservoir to use collected rainwater in the future. To combat erosion, we use regenerative hydrology as well as sustainable viticulture practices. The estate's agroforestry hedges and interstitial strips also enrich the soil and provide shade in the same way as our plant cover. Furthermore, the vines are trained to draw water from deep underground. We carefully monitor our consumption, which is managed by a precision irrigation system.

A REGENERATIVE FUTURE

At Château Galoupet, our agro-ecological approach to sustainable wine employs one of the most stringent organic wine making practices. Every year, we plant cover crops to enrich and protect the soils, as well as encourage development of micro-organisms. We practice agro-forestry, planting green corridors with indigenous trees hedges. At Château Galoupet, we are researching drought-resistant grape varieties and use lighter wine bottle packaging. We also work with partners to help safeguard the local flora and fauna.

SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING

Our commitment to sustainable wine goes beyond the vineyard and winemaking to eco-friendly wine bottle packaging as well. Due to the reality that packaging accounts for 40% of carbon emissions in the wine industry, we made it our mission to find a more sustainable alternative to a regular bottle, more sustainable wine packaging in line with our long-term vision to serve as custodians of the land. Château Galoupet Cru Classé Côtes de Provence is presented in a distinctive and lightweight (499g) amber bottle made from 85% recycled glass. Not only does doing so prevent waste, but it also saves energy during the production process and transportation. This would not have been possible without our partners who supported us in the development and creation of this lightweight bottle, with full traceability and transparency.
