Château Galoupet aims to express the full potential of our terroir through exceptional gastronomic premium rosé wines with notable ageing potential. Our Cru Classé Rosé is a complex, full-bodied and high quality rosé wine with a long and saline finish. This 2021 vintage is made of a blend of 8 grape varieties : Grenache, Syrah, Tibouren, Rolle, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Cabernet et Sémillon. To enjoy from summer to winter, from aperitif to dessert.
The nose is complex and intense with rich aromas of ripe apricot, pepper, almond paste, nuts and honey.
On the palate the Cru Classé is full-bodied with a smooth, velvety texture and fine notes of dried fruits. It is multifaceted and layered with a long, mineral finish.
2021 got off to an unusual start for Provence. After an early budburst at the beginning of March, freezing temperatures in April affected our earliest vines. The maturation cycle was delayed by about ten days and the vines weren’t able to catch up during the season because after a rainy spring, a very dry summer followed. These weather conditions led to a huge heterogeneity in the maturity of our plots and delayed the harvest.
At Château Galoupet, we harvest, press and vinify plot by plot. In 2021, we acquired a new press which allows us to better protect our grapes from oxidation and respect the purity of the pulp aromatics through gentle pressing. We have also installed a new barrel cellar that enables temperature control during fermentation and a more precise translation of our micro-terroirs. 38% of the wines used to craft the final blend were vinified and aged for 4-5 months in 600L barrels (50% new & 50% 1-yr old).
Château Galoupet Cru Classé Côtes de Provence 2021 is presented in a distinctive and lightweight (499g) amber bottle made from 80% recycled glass. Not only does doing so prevent waste, but it also saves energy during the production process and transportation.
