OUR HISTORY & VISION

The Mediterranean estate of Château Galoupet has existed on the map since the 18th century and in 1955 the terroir became a Cru Classé Côtes de Provence, one of just 18 in the region. Over the years, Château Galoupet came under the management of different proprietors, nurtured by some and neglected by others. We arrived just in time in July 2019, to restore the ecosystem to its previous glory. In spring 2022, we presented our first Provence wines in organic conversion.

OUR COMMITMENTS

Caring for nature from ground to glass through our organic rosé wine, sustainability is deeply rooted in our vision at Château Galoupet. We believe that sustainable wine and restoring our dialogue with nature are fundamental to creating and contributing to the preservation of a sanctuary for biodiversity, as well as crafting exceptional Côtes de Provence wines to inspire a new generation of winemakers and wine lovers. We work to help indigenous wildlife to flourish, with bees at the heart of our sustainable ecosystem, while also supporting neighboring winegrowers as part of an ever-growing community with shared values.

OUR NATURE

Birthplace of Provençal rosé, the Mediterranean is the ultimate maritime climate where Château Galoupet’s sustainable vineyard is sheltered from extremes and vines can thrive in optimal conditions, benefitting from three distinct soil types. We respect nature in every step of our of organic winemaking, combining organic viticulture, agro-ecology and sensible, responsible farming practices to regenerate the ecosystem and foster indigenous life such as birds, bats and bees. Château Galoupet rosé wine is a delicate blend of 7 different grape varieties, including the local Tibouren, which had nearly disappeared.

OUR SAVOIR-FAIRE

At Château Galoupet, our rosé winemaking begins with precision and care in the vineyard with a plot-by-plot approach. By ensuring each of our 7 grape varieties grows in its optimal conditions, monitoring its needs throughout the growing season and harvesting at just the right moment. Wines are fermented and aged separately in vats or barrels to enable the precise expression of each grape and our three distinct micro-terroirs in the final blend. Barrels are scrupulously selected, and wines aged with masterful accuracy. Mathieu Meyer, Estate Director, oversees all winemaking operations.
